Hi I have 52 plate 2.5 tdi t4 and you have to let the clutch peddle to the top before it engages but some times it
Bites at the bottom just as you start letting the peddle up, it is not slipping and there is no fluid loss any ideas and many

Hi before you go to the expense of replacing the clutch check your pedal box


To do this:-

Stick your head in the footwell press the clutch pedal by hand, watch the master cylinder as you do it, if there is ANY sideways movement then it has broken.
To double check gently feel between the two bolts that hold the master cylinder to the pedal box, if you can feel a crack or a sharp edge, then it is definitely knackered.

Nice one pal, av had a look n it does move side to side but only with flex in the metal fixing there is a small amount
Of fluid on the top of the master cylinder so am guessing it needs a new one are they easy to do. Thanks again pal
