Looked into getting this for the ol' bus, as just got one and am about to start the conversion process.

When I rang the AA to ask if the parts and labour warranty applied to the van, she said yes (as long as gross weight is less than 3.5T). However, if I converted the van and got it re-registered as a motor-caravan, the warranty became invalid.

I tried to explain that putting a bed, cooker and sink in didn't make the van less reliable, and she agreed, but thems the rules!

Apparently, it may be down to the patrolman's discretion, as it is he who decides if the claim should be processed.

Doesn't appear as if the RAC have the same exclusion so may jump ship to them

Its not the patrol man who decides the claim, he writes a report and then you phone it through and they say yes or no. Id bought this policy and then reregistered as a camper. I claimed and just said my van was towed by you to garge can I claim for repair on policy no...... .. job done!

cheers for the info bud, I've got the same policy and it's already paid for itself - I didn't know that you're excluded when your van becomes a camper, as I'm converting mine at the mo I might look at the RAC one T:
