Hi all,

We have a 1998 2.5 TDI T4 which has the Abs light coming on above say 60mph. And the ABS cuts in under 15mph.
Now I did a quick search on here and managed to find that its probably one of the toothed abs cog's that has cracked (maybe)

Our second car is a 1998 honda crv which had the exact same problem.

I was able to find the ABS 'Flash' codes myself by using the ole paper clip in the right plug trick Saving myself a bit of cash by not having to take it to the garage for fault finding. As this told me what side, front or back and what was wrong.,

My question is, is this possible on our T4?

Is there such a way that I can find these codes myself or have those sneeky boffins at VW stopped us.
I havn't had a real close inspection of the vehicle yet but was hoping to narrrow my search down to at least one side and front or back?

Thanks

Hi, it will have to be plugged in mate, there's a 16 pin socket below the steering wheel.its under a cover. Doesn't have to be a vw agent, just a garage with diagnostic tester. They can even drive down the road to get live data. I expect its 1 of the wheel sensors.

Hope that helps
