Hi There
I have a 2004 T5 2.5 TDi PD. Auto, 130kmiles Camshaft is reported to be worn as well as lots of fuel in the top of the engine, assumed to be injectors as well as the seals. :(:(

Done some research and there's been a lot of talk about cracks/scratches in the head, problems with it by the number 3 injector.

Anyone had any experience with this and any advice as to what to do next? :*
Looking at full engine replacement atm, but found a lot with out injectors etc.
do I keep my current engine and change the head/injectors etc or perhaps an upgrade of engine to a better model?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated..

Not so easy to "upgrade" to another engine type although anything is possible.
New engines from VW include injectors, oil pump & oil level sensor - north of £6k though, but you do get a decent warranty.

Yeah VW quoted me £5k for the camshaft, seals and injectors but possibly another £2.5k for a new head. then around £7k for a new engine - part only. I appreciate I can get this done cheaper else where but having read a thread about cracks in the injector bores I'm at a loss as to what to do? my concern is replacing like for like and just having the same problems as it seems to be common. Well I'm told its common.
