Hi,

I'm looking for a T4 or T5 camper as my first venture into the campervan world and I'm a little overwhelmed at the vast number of different types/conversions I've seen advertised...

I was wondering if you more experienced guys would give a brief opinion on the best of the following bunch that I'm currently considering:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-VW-T5-CAMPER-VAN-/120984923758?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item1c2b436e6e

I'm open to the idea of a T4 or a T5 and I'm not worried if it hasn't got a pop top though that would be beneficial. I am keen to buy a van that will be mechanically sound for many years to come and ideally be pretty good on the old mpg!

My budget is around 10k though I would like to spend less if possible. The van will be used for the occasional commute and trips to Scotland from South Wales four or five times a year and weekends to Cornwall and West Wales.

All advice appreciated guys. If anyone know for a bargain that is too good to miss, please let me know.

Thanks
Gavin

Hi mate,I would go with the 56 plate as it has the pop top and more of a proper camper spec.If the roof is genuine Reimo it will cost over £3000 fitted.I have been building Reimo Campers for over 20 years now so I have a pretty good idea about things. The pimping
process can be done a bit at a time as funds allow.

Do not buy that camper item http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-VW-T5-CAMPER-VAN-/120984923758?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item1c2b436e6e I have done some research and the seller is a scammer, the description says van in Cardiff but I got an email saying it was in Glasgow and it would be delivered. Look at the seller, has no feedback rating, look at the price far to cheap for this van!
