Had a new windscreen fitted a while ago and had to destroy the old aerial to allow the guy to fit it. It was a bit buckled so needed replacing anyway.

I thought I'd save a few quid and get the pattern one off of eBay:

Got it fitted and connected up and radio reception was restored. Well, until it rained anyway. When it rains I lose all reception and if its just damp then I get reception but its nothing special and won't hold a station.

Before I pull this one out and replace it with either one from Breezepool:

or a dealer, (although my local dealer said they didn't have one and couldn't get one), does anyone have any suggestions of what I need to look for to improve the reception with the aerial I already have?

I bought one from breeze and not had any problems with it.

The one you bought doesn't look very cheap so I would expect it to work. It there is a problem in wet/damp conditions there could be a short to the bodywork from the aerial causing the interference. Maybe there is a rubber grommit missing between the base and the bodywork? Maybe get a couple of big tap washers if there wasn't any with it? Could also try lightly greasing the extended aerial to prevent water ingress in the wet.
