I've completely boxed in the rear nearside but havent done the rear offside.
When I close the boot the air pressure inside is preventing it closing first time unless I really slam it. If a window or door is open it closes with normal force.
I assume the outlet vents are in the sides below the floor level- do you think blocking one of these is causing this and therefore will blocking both make it even worse?

yeah if you blocked them this will stop the boot closing easy, if you boxed them in fit a vent cover and that'll cure the problem both sides
