Issue #999 AirCon...

Hi Guy's I have read a few Air con.... not working threads, unfortunatly, although i have similar failure symtoms - i.e its an electrical issue... The compressor will not kick in, not even intimitently.. so I looked for the fuses etc as shown on other threads however i have a different electric cct... chased it to the cct as photo below.. Can any tell me what this part is.. need to search on the web site with the tech diagrams / part numbers teka is it??

Any help apreciated..

Pressure 100% ??... not totally sure ... However..

Van details will also help 2001 2.5 TDI westy - so kitted out as a Caravelle

I do not want to take it to be toped / pressure tested etc (yet) until i am happy the elctrics are A1 first..

Symptoms..

1) Turn on Engine ... Press AC button (lights up) check compressor for any signs of life.. nothing.. not even an initial start up, dip in revs.. nohing..

Next step i will meter the signals into the compressor / and various sensors I have a strong feeling the Electric CCT as below contains most if not all the control gubbins

Ideally i would like to check this here rather than scrap around on my back chasing the signalsunder over and in the front of the van..

Any idea regards the part website??

Thanks any experiance with Air con apreciated mate...

I wuold think the most likely culprit is low pressure as this will give you the exact symptoms that you are seeing, very slow leaks are totally normal in an aircon system. The pressure sensor is probably just a make or brake switch which will cut out power to the solenoid type clutch on the compressor and trerefore nothing else happens, you may be able to short out the pressure switch to quickly test the solenoid clutch but I cuoldnt advise any further on the system as I have never seen the T4 system, they are pretty much all the same though.

Thanks guys great idea Monkey..

Read you lound and clear on the pressure issue...

FWIW I take it you can not represure a system if the compressor is not running??? the reason i ask is that i have a Air Con can from before they got band... I have not used it as i have a feeling without the Compressor running this alone will not be enough to repressure the system..??

So for now before taking it to a Air con Specialist... I Just need to chase the cct for the sensors...

Wiring diagram for the "black box" below ... anyone :) ?? T:

Cheers

O.K... I take on board it is likly to be gas/pressure issue... 99% .. its also frequently seen to be a sensor or fuse issue also.. This is what i am trying to rule out first...

I am 100% sure I will be £89 lighter going for a re-pressure and gas locally... If it is electrics..

so i need to go to a specialist then... Cardiff any options locations...???

There is an In N Out that does it...

Is it stock or aftermarket ?
To eliminate elec probs trace the wire that goes to the relay and make sure power is going out of the relay to the pressure switch.
