Well the bus honeymoon seems to be over...
Got the bus a few weeks ago and despite some misgivings over buying an auto went ahead, it seemed to drive nicely no juddering, or problems engaging gear, however i have noticed some juddering the last couple of times its been out.
It seems to judder/stutter not when on acceleration more when easing off or at a constant speed at certain revs.
Took it to a local autobox specialist who went for a drive and plugged it in. The following code 1192 was the result...
01192 - Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch
01192 - Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch: Mechanical Malfunction
Possible Symptoms
Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch slipping
Possible Causes
Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch faulty
Valve Body faulty
Internal Failure in Transmission
Possible Solutions
Check Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch Slip
Special Notes
When found in 4-Speed Automatic Transmission (01M), check Measuring Value Block (MVB) 007.

The garage seemed to think it was not worth doing much other than a rebuild, which of course is pricey, but i was wondering if it is worth getting an ATF change first as I guess when its all being changed they can tell more about the condition of the box.
I know it might be wasted money if a rebuild is needed, but does anyone have any input?
I know the atf has never been changed, the bus has done 120,000 miles and while its been looked after i understood it towed a caravan for a few years.
