AXB Engine replacement dilemma

My AXD has needed constant care. It's 2005 with 160,000 - The injectors failed to the point the van wouldnt start at 155,000. I replaced them with new. I've done the following work in the last year

Steering Rack
5 injectors
New manifold (original cracked)
Start motor (went in smoke)
Vacuum Leaks (pipes and solenoids replaced)

It's now starting to tick loudly when cold, and smoking so suspect turbo is gonna need doing and the clutch is on it's way out.

I think I'll get a good recon when it finally gives up. I don't think i'd find one much under ÂŁ2 to 3000 with a warranty so if you can get some promises for ÂŁ1200 I'd jump on it.

A second hand engine is only gonna go through the same failures?

BAZ B uk =, im very surprised you had so much trouble with the van at such low mileage. A mate had the same one and he has over 300,000 miles on it. It has started to give hime trouble lately but.. Anyway i'l keep you posted
Well - I have a picture of the former owner using it for off roading as it had land rover wheels and about 2 inch of hardened mud covering the engine bay and sub frame. May not have been best looked after, but then I believe the AXD has more than it's fair share of issues. Love not having a cam chain / belt :)
