hi all in need of some sort of guide for changing the dmf on my van as some of you know i desided to put it up for sale well just my luck the day i pay for the advert in the local friday add the dmf desides to fail not shore when it was last changed but my vans got 276.000 miles on it simptoms was what first felt like a misfire but with a bit more test driving and now struggling to get up hills have found its most likely the dmf has failed best price iv found for a new dmf was from euro car parts and that was £245 inc the vat if anyone knows where i can get a new one cheaper pleeeeaaaasseeeee say lol

that sounds a good price to me but is it for the dmf only :* I think i paid close to £720 for dmf, clutch and bearing.

Sounds like a good price to me - anyway, with a new clutch it will be a good selling point !

the price is for the dmf only as for the clutch im still looking at priceses

check your fuel quality, is it noisy or miss-firing?

just managed to borrow a code reader and its says ( valve for pump jet cylinder 2 (n241) electrical malfunction (p1667)

just been out in the van again cleared the codes and went on text drive few minites into the drive misfire again carried on to see if it would clear but nope so come home plug code reader in again and same fault code again so kind of happy in not the dmf like i first thought but not stuck on this

ok well been doing lots of reading and searching on here and aperantly the best route to take is to first reply the injector loom could someone comferm this would be going in the right direction


ps thanks for putting up with all my question iv not had much experiance with diesels give me a petrol engine and im happy i know what im doing there lol

Hi,

Fuel injectors are very expensive around £430 if one is faulty you might be best finding a good diesel specialist who can refurb your old ones. I would relist this under "fuel injector problem" List all the VAG codes and symptoms etc and I am sure the forum will assist with a way ahead. Good luck.
