i have just spent out on a ball joint tool which will be put out to forum members for a fee
could a list of other members that rent these tools out be made a sticky T:
I was supposed to be having my ball joints replaced (MOT failure) at my local Garage but they've just informed me that it's causing all sorts of problems. They're talking about heating it up to get it out? I said I'd look into it as they're nice enough blokes. Would you suggest hiring one of these things or should they be able to take care of it?
I have the tools for upper and lower ball joints. Also have the hand held vag com, brake pipe flaring tools, thread insert tools, and other specalised bits. Also able to weld. Happy to help out around the Oxfordshire area.

ive just got the puller , doing my own this weekend , , if anyone in cumbria /sw scotland need top ball joints done , instead of sending it out for a fee ,you are more than welcome to do the job in my work unit for a fee , (should have 2 post ramp fitted soon too ) T:

Hi, I had to remove the spring and washer from steering column . I refitted both but the steering is now ‘ notchy ‘, and hard to turn round corners! Have I knocked the special washer down too far ? And compressed the spring too much? I have been having problems with this for months and it’s...

My van seems to have developed a knocking when turning right only, generally at low speeds.
I'm thinking likely CV joint?

I have had my Gaz shocks on the van for only 2-3 months, but had no end of issues with them, could never get them adjusted properly, each setting wasn't the same on each shock and when I did get them set up ok the settings would change after a weeks driving!, I wasn't convinced on the ride...

So my steering column bearings on my 1991 T4 are starting to disintegrate and I had shards of metal in the steering cowling and some bearings have fallen out.
I've had a mechanic look at it and he says I need a new upper steering column 'from the UJ's up'. I'm not totally sure what...
