Hi guys,
I'm trying to find out the advantages/drawback of the 2 bases chassis (WW1 panel vans vs WV2 Kombis)
I'm thinking to get a new LWB T6 single side door when i finish saving for one
Insurance/MOT checks/pillar shapes, etc...
What do you think is the best to start from?
Sorry if this has been asked before couldn't really find it.

I want to convert it as a camper
no business purpose. dayvan, but with an M1 bed/bench at the back

WV 2 then would be the way to go. I believe the latter has all the strengthening plate for belts etc which the WV 1 does not.

I believe the Chassis used for Kombis, Shuttles and Caravelles have the triple-skinned floor with extra strengthing for seat mounts.

I was speaking to a conversion company at one show and was discussing this and they told me they only ever buy the Kombis to convert for this reason.

i've seen that the kombi seems to also have better sound insulation
the only thing that I saw that was a bit annoying is some insurance seem to charge more or refuse to insure since Kombis have 6 seats
I plan to have mine 2 + 2 eventually

Plenty of standard MPVs have 7 seats.
