Hi all, after a very enjoyable but chilly overnighter in York this weekend, have decided I need some thermal screen covers ASAP to help retain heat and reduce window condensation, where's the best place for quality and value before I order please?I:

Which do you want, quality or value?

When I last looked, the difference in price between (allegedly) highest quality and cheapest was about £120. I'm sure Silver Screens must be very nice at £170 a cover, but I didn't want quite that much quality (or cost). JK were the best value that I found - assuming it's external that you want - though some people have reported a tendency for them to flip up in gale force winds.

As mentioned above...quality or cost??
I bought a cheaper set a couple of years ago (can't remember the make but they certainly weren't bargain basement jobs) and they were sent back as they were a big disappointment. Bit the bullet and bought some genuine Silver Screens and haven't regretted the extra cost for a single minute.
There are some great cheaper ones out there but IMO these are worth the extra

+1 for silver screens , well worth the money IMO ,check auction sites though as I got a shop second from the manufacturer for a really good price and when it arrived I couldn't find anything wrong with it T:

There was a guy on here that used to sell those Silver Screen 'seconds' around £50 cheaper. Not sure if he is still doing them but like you most couldn't find any faults!!

Silver Screen all the way !

At one time they used to make a very sensibly priced non insulated cover, which actually worked very well. I had one for the T4 and it still looked like new after 7 years and many nights use.

When I bought my t5 I wanted the same style again, but couldn't find them on the Silver Screens site.

I rang them and they told me that owing to the process involved in coating them, that they had been discontinued, something to do with the regs concerning paints which came into force at the same time as vehicle paints were changed.

The insulated ones are expensive, granted, I was lucky to buy one for £80 in great nick off a guy selling his van.
It really does work well, although it takes up a fraction more space than the non insulated one.

I've seen at least three cheap screens from apparently reputable VW van specialist parts folk, they just flap about like bunting at a street party.

We have a paragon - bought on here as a second - around £100 IIRC but compared to the screen we had on the T4 (A £40 flimsy job), it is amazing!

Nice and thick - no movement in the wind to date and a fantastic fit. I'd buy again in a heartbeat at that price. Never experienced the silver screen so no idea how they stack up.

Thread here may help too.

edit: I assume Paragon are different to the 'Silver screen' brand mentioned above. May be wrong though

Yes Paragon are "silverscreens"

If you call silverscreens they will offer you a seconds (could not find any issue with mine) for a cheaper price. Well worth the money, we also purchased a solar panel which you can see out of from the inside but keeps the heat from coming into the van, worked well in France last year! They all velcro together and are really well made.
