Remove cap from fluid reservoir.
Place bucket under pump.
Undo jubilee clip on hose at pump, ease pipe off. Catch fluid in bucket.
Undo Banjo bolt, catch any washers before they go in bucket full of fluid. Catch more fluid in bucket.
Not much fluid in there really, it drains out.

At least that's how I did it. Don't know if it was a full drain out but it stopped pouring and I was able to replace the pump then fill up again.

Hope this helpsT:

l had a look yesterday at my 2ltr petrol 1995 power steering pump, there were no j/clips connecting pipes to pump? there were original VW metal clamp thingys? not sure how to remove these, not very good at this sort of stuff :D

Although, there were x2 large bolts on the pump connecting the pipes, are these the Banjo Bolts? can l remove one of these large bolts to drain the fluid, the one coming from the fluid container?

cheers

Yep. Remove the lowest banjo bolt and let it drain with the cap off. Refit and refill. Turn the steering wheel fully clockwise then anti clockwise half a dozen times to bleed out the air.
