This is the sticker on my engine. The service booklet also says BNZ on it so I've always thought that I have a BNZ. However, when I did a vagcom scan today I was surprised to see this:

Address 01: Engine Labels: 070-906-016-BPC.clb

Now is it just a coincidence in their labelling or is something (other than myself) confused??

You definately have a BNZ engine.
The VCDS label file is probably used for both BNZ and BPC as they are virtually the same engine. When the label file was written, a BPC engine was probably used during the R&D process, which is why it's written into the file title.

Ahhh... that would make sense indeed!
