Hi, I'm struggling to remove the starter motor on a 57 plate BNZ 130.

I can't get access to the upper most bolt as there is a plastic clip holder in the way and I am struggling to remove it to get to the bolt. Everything else is disconnected.

Is there a logical way of getting this off?

Thanks in advance.

All sorted, it was the nut initialy I was unaware of but once found it was easy enough.

New starter in place and everything working,

I had an intermittent starting issue. Every now and then when turning the key there was no engine turnover, lights on dash and battery charged but non starting. The issue got worse over the last couple of months until last weekend when it was being a pig to start.

Hi,

The 3 parts which could have been the issue was;

1. Battery, but when checked it was over 12.6 volts and all the wiring was ok nothing loose or frayed.

2. Key barrel and switch, this was working ok as everything would power up and work just no starting.

3. Starter, progressively getting worse, got wife to turn key on and off to start it whilst I got underneath and could not hear or feel it engaging or turning, and it's too arkward to tap it with a bug wooden stick.

When the last time I got stuck and couldn't start it I had to bump start it but had the key turned and the starter worked with the slightest push in gear. Jump starting had no effect.

When I removed the starter it was sticking and difficult to turn.

When I fitted the replacement I fitted a new battery too, the old battery is sat in the garage and not dropped any charge.

My van now starts on the button each and every time as it should do.
