Am booking a hol for the kids for the summer and am going from dublin to holyhead with irish ferries , but when im booking on line it asks vehicle type...

options are ( from a drop down menu )
car/mpv/4x4
camper/motorhome
minibus
van

hmmm what do i pick ??? if i pick car/mpv it works out nearly 80 euro cheaper... it allows a vehicle up to 2.25m high and could i get away with being an mpv considering its a velle?

picking minibus and camper both are the same rate.... i didnt check van because you need to pay freight rates ( i think )


on my V5 the taxation class is Diesel car.... but body type is minibus......

what do yous think?? :*

the go off logbook dvla records
book it as mpv and if they question it when you get there pay the difference
if they dont send me the difference for such good advice

Ive just been on the stena line from rosslare to Fishguard, and came back on the Irish Ferries from Holyhead to Dublin in my Velle. Both trips were booked as a car, no problems at all. Got pulled over at Holyhead docks but a's soon as customs saw the kids in the back I got sent on my way.

I would book it on as car/mpv/4x4. You should be fine with that T:

MPV, thats what I do on the france ferries. It's not a van.

Iv got a velle & on all boats I book it as a MPV & never had any problems....
