hi
have glow plug light flashing which starts after about 5 seconds whether vehicle is running or ignition is on
i have read the posts about brake lights being a possible cause
both brake lights are working with double fillament bulbs fitted
can the switch still be faulty if both lights are still working ?

according to the manual (2.5tdi) flashing glow plug light can also mean engine management system fault

Yep engine management fault - Could be anything

Get it plugged in to VCDS and see what it says!

got it plugged in and fault cleared
if it re-appears will need new temp sensor

i Just had this - went to my local VW garage and he plugged in the VAG.com kit - turned out to be the brake pedal switch - didnt realise none of my brake lights werent working - doh!
Just waiting for a new switch and should be sorted - warning light went out after connecting the laptop
