Hi All,

What's the crack with breakdown cover?
I've just had my AA renewal through - £255.96! This is joint cover for me and the Mrs, home start, national breakdown blah blah.
We've been with them 10 years but every year the renewal notice goes up £20+ even though we've not had to call them for years.
Anyway, needless to say I won't be renewing! Most years I give them a call a usually get the price down to around £125 - this year I think we'll try elsewhere.
A couple of thoughts first - my AA cover has always been based on me having a car (2 cars including the Mrs). The T5 is officially classed as a Motor Home - what breakdown cover do I need? Car, Van or specialist motor home? At the moment the T5 is used as my day to day vehicle to get to work & back and a little bit of social.
I wonder if I called the AA out before my cover runs out in a month if they'd say sorry you're not covered because you've now got a van?

Thanks, Dan

I can't comment on the service as I haven't needed it but I used ADAC which is a German breakdown cover service. It's about £80 and covers me anywhere in Europe. They use the aa in the uk should you run into trouble. They seem to get good feedback on here. I'm pretty sure it covers you personally rather than the vehicle so you would have to give them a call. All the call services speak really good English and are very helpful.

Looking at adac, they want you to have a European address, how do you get around that, as looking at that for my crafter abroad

Give Adrian Flux a call (you'll find a contact on this forum). We've had brilliant service from them and they're not wildly expensive.
