Hi,
I'm looking at t5 camper thats 10yrs old, 130k miles for a possible purchase. I'm no expert on engines but interested in some opinions.

The private seller is upfront about the work its had done on it:- its had its head gasket replaced. Its also had its head skimmed, new valves, valve guides, injectors and injector seals. Also had the turbo replaced at the same time using genuine VW parts and that includes oil feed pipe and boost pipe. Doesnt have a full service history,

Worried about any collateral damage due to the gasket have gone in the past (even though seller says mechanic has fixed gasket)

would you buy it or avoid?

thanks in advance.

If he has went to the bother of putting original vw parts on I would imaging he used a mechanic who was trustworthy, personally even though not full history you should get a feel for the van when you see it, if not get an independent check done for piece of mind . should be well worth the small fee if you like the vanT:T:
