Hi All,
I want to bypass the EGR cooler on my 1.9 BRS, to see if it's leaking internally. I don't want to fit a 'delete' kit just yet.
Am I right in thinking that if I remove the multiplug from the EGR it will stop working ? (I know I'll get a dash lamp, not bothered about that at the moment)
And then I can undo both coolant hoses to the cooler and join them together to bypass the cooler.
Extra info on why: I'm getting intermittent coolant loss from somewhere, and before I shell out ÂŁ1000+ for a headgasket, I want to eliminate or swap out the cheaper parts first.
I've changed the rad, thermostat, expansion tank and cap, and the waterpump (and cambelt). The system does appear to be pressurising though, as coolant is escaping the overflow on the expansion tank, which is why I want to rule out the EGR cooler, in case it's a fault in that, long shot I know, but it's what I want to do.
cheers
