Not sure because I've got a bench seat, the seatbelt is in the pillar for me.
But you've probably tripped a fault because you had the seatbelt tensioner unplugged or an additional airbag in the seat?
Whatever the cause once you've triggered the airbag light (I did it leaving a switch unplugged & turning the van round)
you need to get it reset by a garage or ask if anyone local has VCDS & will do it for a pint.
