most don't as far as I can tell but I want to do mine and the barn doors so as not to see any paint when doors are shut. T:

 

I did the trim on mine. It does rub a little but not really noticeable.

 

Done mine fella and I've got banded steelies on too. It whispers by "just" but I've got 6mm ply on top of the standard grey VW stuff also.... T:

Decision made!
Just wondering where the carpet should finish
1. Should I stop it just on the rubber sill around opening
2. Should I carry it around the side of the door and into the rubber sill on door
I don't want the carpet getting wet

At no point should the carpet quite touch any seals, when you carpet doors. It's asking for trouble really, the amount of water which can get sucked in when the van is moving in particular is surprising....In a bad way !

Go up to the seals when doing doors, if that's how you want them, but no further.

When doing the van sides etc, then just nipping 4 or 5mm under the seals is usually fine, as long as you have no nicks or holes in the seal.

 

Go up to the seal it looks much better when you are sitting in the back. Mine came only carpeted upto the bottom of the windows and it looks un finished.

 

It's a real each to their own situation, this. Personally I'm happy with just the panels carpeted on both slider and rear door.

As it looks really rubbish when either are partly open and the edge of the carpet is seen if you go any further.

My slider has been done as the missus prefers the look too. I think its carp to be honest.:*
