I tried to use my soldering iron but it was terrible (knackered). I finished mine off with a lighter and just quickly skimmed down the sides. It crisps it just slightly on the edges to stop any bits fraying or pulling. I did use a new set of stanley blades though to cut it first before I seared the edges.and any tips on how to get a nice finish on the carpet around the seal lines. Did I see someone saying use a soldering iron or hot knife to make a clean edge on the carpet or is a good set of scissors best?
