I picked up some new sportline rear lights for my T5 GP, I know I have to carry out a few pin alterations to the wiring, I just need a little help.

Is there anyone out there with the correct sequence for a start off and how do you swap the pins over without making a mess ?!

Here is a pic of the plug

Thanks in advance T:

Cheers pal, got it printed off.

How do the pins come out though, or did you splice the wires ?

If you look at the plug (wires facing away from you) you can the "flick" the red slider bracket out and then use two pieces of mug wire down each side of the pin to push the tabs back and they will pull out its not easy though!

Pics would be a help please, I'm a bit nervous of screwing this up.

You should be able to get a pin tool at your local motor factors for about £5 & it makes the job much easier

The tool is a VAG pin removal tool

The one we use is made by Laser & has an anodised blue handle

A good local motor factor will keep these in...

Sorted:cool:

I tried 3 motor factors today with little success..

So i ended up making my own tool for the job, I ground down some cheap tweezers which worked an absolute treat.

Happy days T:

Will post some pics in my van thread when I get chance.
