I have a fault code of engine coolant sensor on my AJT 2.5 tdi and wondered where I find this sensor??? I have been told it's on a hose and also may be located in the engine block. Any help would be appreciated

Which fault code?
There are 2 (or 3 or 4) coolant sensors.

There are 2 on the front of the engine, down below the oil filler....a 2 pin and a 4 pin one.
There is often another one also in one of the water pipes.
Also in the header tank.

Knowing which error you have could help diagnose which sensor.....but the most common one is the 4 pin one.

DO NOT BUY A CHEAP ONE FROM EBAY.....chances are you'll still have an error and go around in circles for weeks (see some older threads!)

I don't know which sensor it is, as the garage didn't really tell me . I did have a fuel leak on cyl 1 (far left) so it may be this one? The symptoms are it sometimes has a puff of black smoke on start up as the mixture is being altered due to the faulty temp sensor
