I'm a newbie doing the necessary research, looking into the costs associated with owning a late T5, do I go for a panel van or a Kombi, my goal is for a 6 seat kombi with a bed platform, so I've ruled out full camper conversion.
My research tells me that 2010 T5s are £130 per year to tax, at least doubling outside of 2010.
On insurance, I get quotes for a kombi in the region of £300 pa, but if I convert a van to a kombi the price at least doubles
So a 2010 Kombi is cheapest for me to run (from a T&I perspective) but it would take me about 8-10 years of these Insurance savings to claw back the £3k it will cost to convert a van to a kombi
Can anyone share if this is ball park from their experience
Cheers, Dave
