Hi All, I am knew to this forum and in need of help on heaters please.
Hopefully I am posting in the right place, if not I apologise
I have a second hand D2 Eberspacher 2.2kw , it has its wires and cables and connections and heater controller but no remote (if it has one), fuel pump, air filter, silencer etc nor any fitting instructions or other "bits". it was removed from another vehicle and i haven't been able to test it as i don't have all the parts.
I also bought a Chinese diesel heater 5kw which has all the above stuff etc brand new from the internet
Here's my dilemma - which do i fit.?
1 -which is best to install ? something Chinese and new or the eberspacher and 2nd hand.
2 -will the fuel pumps and silencer etc from the new Chinese heater fit the eberspacher heater or if i go down eberspacher airtronics route ought i get proper parts for it and can you get them depending on price.
3- is 5kw actually too big and powerful for my T5 LWB as I have read on my research its best to run lower kw at full rate than higher kw at low rate.
4 -I have a fuel line connected to the diesel tank already, so would you put the heater in the van or outside underneath the van - is it really quieter having it underneath the van and would you connect it the fuel tank to save having an internal fuel tank.
5 -If I put it underneath the van would i need to keep it towards the front as my batteries are under the passenger seat and the kitchen runs along behind the seats, is there space under there to drill the holes and also fit it, however maybe i could install it at the back underneath and bring the heater vent up at the back through the floor , but then i suppose i would need to run the wires in the van to the battery. ?
Help .... my brain is confused .
what does everyone else do as I can not get my brain to make a decision on this one.
