Hello.

Is there easy way to test if diesel has been leaking to oil sump? I tried to smell oil in the dipstick, but couldn't smell any. No sure how well you can make the smell out of it, if the content is small?

I did check up the oil level during my 12000km eurotrip and it hasn't changed. I would assume the engine should use oil but it has not, so it must be leaking diesel in oil. Today I smelled again and I think it smell a little bit of diesel. Now the question is, how much there is diesel in my oil? Is leaking from injector seal or do I have cracked head? :(

Anyway, did some googling and found couple of places where you can do oil analysis.

1. http://www.millersoils.co.uk/services/oil-analysis
2. https://en.oelcheck.com/shop/home

The first is for UK customers only. Anyway there are quite many places to do oil analysis but you have to ask prices since mostly none of them are disclosing prices beforehand.

edit: Also read from the internet that you can do poor man's test by dripping warm oil to a A4 printer paper and you should see light ring around the oil ring. The diesel is moving further on the paper than the oil and it work only used warm oil, at least so I've been told.
