hi all.
our van has just had a major service, cam belt, water pump and a brand new dual mass complete clutch fitted and was wondering if the diesel pump timing will need correcting? what are the symptoms of this and is there any one local to me (mansfield) who could do such a job? also is it normal for the t4 2.5tdi 88bhp to smoke for the fist quater mile or so from start up?
please help cos i need to get this lot done before we conv
thank you.ert to a camper.

a lot of these do smoke when first started, mine included I always keep an eye on my oil and it never uses a drop so probably my pump needs correcting too.. Pump timing needs to set with vagcom if i'm not mistaken but this should have been done when you had the belts changed.

Had an issue with this myself - there are 360 degrees in a circle and 359 of them will make your AJT refuse to run

You need someone with the right VAG tools to make it run

thanks for the replies, we just want the van to be as good as possible, but if they smoke a bit,are noisey and agricultural, well thats what it is and we love it.
