My expensive digital volt meters have turned up and im about to fit one of them in the dash (the amazing value £3.88 ones as from a previous thread). Just 2 quick (and maybe daft) questions. Im assuming i wire the positive direct off the battery or is there somewhere else i can run the positive from? If I'm fitting a switch for the meter(I'm only using it for the main battery), should I switch the positive or negative wire ? I was thinking the positive but won't that just fry the switch ??

Switch can be either side of the circuit, you won't fry it.

Mine switches the negative side, but thats because its switches two DVMs at the same time, that have a common earth. (one for van batt, one for leisure batt)

pretty much any positive feed under the dash should be ok, perhaps from the fuse box if you're concerned, plenty of good feeds for things like the *** lighter without needing to go straight to the battery.

(mine are connected to the terminals on the split charge relay, another nice fat direct connection)
