Out of interest what was wrong with your old turbo ?

looks like either a turbo or actuator fault preventing the turbo from operating properly. Time is not on my side so I've bought both. I'll have a better idea on Monday when I get the old turbo off- if it's the actuator I've just wasted £200 but I'd rather have peace of mind as I'm about to drive to the west coast of Ireland.

Turbo won't be coded, the actuator should be pre set from new so just fit and go.

Do you have turbo boost faults or actuator codes?

 

I don’t have any fault codes at all, that’s the weird thing. As soon as I get to 2200rpm the van loses power and judders badly. If I try to push through it ends up in limp mode but still no codes. Ease back to below 2200rpm and it’s fine. I’ve replaced most of the vacuum system, the fuel pressure regulator, N75 valve, two diesel pipes, cleaned the DPF- two people have now suggested it’s the turbo or actuator so they’re next. Any other ideas gratefully received!

 

How does it go into limp but store no codes ?

 

What are you using to read the codes? Have seen it before where the hand held code readers don't pick up faults like a proper diagnostic machine well. Doesn't have to be vag com

 

I’ve used multiple code readers including diagnostics from two garages. Nobody I’ve spoken to (including the two decent garages) can get their heads around why no codes would be stored, unless the issue is with a mechanical part that doesn’t have a sensor attached. Before all this started I had turbo underboost codes popping up but also other ones so we’re not sure if any of them were actually accurate.
