After loads of looking around and plenty of information found on this site I'm in the process of converting my first T4 into a camper and I want to make it LEZ compliant. I'm clear on how to change the V5C from panel van to motor caravan (or whatever the term is) but can anyone offer advice on how to downplate the GVW to less than 2500kg? Is the process:

- Get the finished conversion weighed at a public weighbridge
- Pay someone like SvTech to do something!
- Send the appropriate forms and documentation off to the DVLA
- Hound TfL to confirm that my van is compliant

I'm in South Wales so any recommendations of local companies that could help will be much appreciated too.

watch your weight if you downplate to 2490kg (and wish to stay legal with regard to not being overloaded)
if you are to carry 4 passengers ever that will eat up ~ 320kg
filling the fuel tank +60kg

unladen SWB T4 ~1700kg your already at ~2100kg leaving you less than 390kg for all the conversion, clothes, food etc..
