Hi, I'm looking for a solution for fitting my drive away awning to my van with roof bars. I want to go down the kador strip and figure of 8 set up. The only thing that I have seen which I like the look of is a piece of formed aluminium rail with some slots cut out for the roof rail to fit over but the price is almost £90:eek: i suspect some of you have seen this on ebay. I'm sure that there is something somewhere that I could possibly modify to solve the problem. Could you let me know how you have got around this guys?? Cheers Scott

T: hi there I have roof rails and fitted my awning rail in the gutter. I wanted to avoid using screws or rivets in the roof so I have used tiger seal and so far so good. I bought straight rails from eBay 3x 1.2 metre for £22.49. You can get a more descrete rail which is slimmer but as its in my gutter you cannot see it and I wanted to give the tiger seal more to stick to :D

Look at this on eBay:

This one is more descrete and you can fit it to the edge of your roof so your roof bars don't get in the way

The rail and the double Kandor strip was from FishBrain and i'm happy as the rail is secure and left in place being held firmly by the roof rail after a little modification. The Kandor strip offers protection from scratches due to it's fabric makeup and best of all, the awning solution is not visible and does not change the apperance of the T5 !!!
