Me and a mate in a pub (yes all good stories start that way) were chatting about making my van faster....which led onto engines....which led onto fitting a big block V8....which would have to go in the back, fit a bulk head, auto box to make linckages easier etc...
Well after sobering up in the morning we both think this might still be a go.... so we are on the look out for a t4 cheap... dosnt matter about the engine as not needed just a sturdy chasis and reasonable bodywork.... obviously lots of strengthaning etc.. will be needed.... reakon it could be worth ago...so anyone with any advice or parts they reakon might be usefull......A:

I have thought about this aswell,
bulkhead halfway back the load area, cut out floor and suspension, new subframe to house V8, coilovers and rear axle.
One hell of a job but one hell of a van when done.
There's a member doing a roof chop on here at the mo and I'm sure in one of his pictures I saw a big hole cut into his rear floor.

Only reason why I ask, is a mate of mine's dad (many years ago - cure the hovis musicLOL:LOL:) once had a Dutton Sierra. It was a kind of pretend 4x4 based on a mk1 escort. (yes, THAT long ago). It was rear wheel drive & supposed to have a 1.3 escort engine. He put a 3.1 V6 essex race engine in it. He had problems getting the power put down. Now If you could get something like that into a T4.......:D

If you need a hand making the odd coffee and hovering over your shoulder watching you, then I can help.;)LOL: as I am in Taunton.

Also may be able to source a reconed 3.5 but would be a bare engine.T:
