Hi fellas, advice needed! My 2.5 velle clutch is on its way out which is great news, got the typical symptoms!!! Problem i have is when the gearbox is cold second gear gives a slight crunch on the up or down change and im not sure if its due to clutch drag or if its the syncro thats shot, the van has done 140,000? Dont want to spend on stripping the box if theres no need!!!! Box works just fine when its warm btw.

hi mate if it only dose it when it's cold i would worry about it just take your time with 2nd when it's cold and then if it gets bad WORRY about it

get the oil in the g/box changed when the clutch is done, defo synchro though!!

I have the same problem, its been crunching slightly in 2nd for the last 2 years. It hasnt got any worse thou, just need to ease 2nd in slowly when its cold. Its normally the syncro ring, I now have 142,000 on the clock so sounds pretty much standard problem. I would just monitor it as I am. :ILU:

ive had the transmission oil changed in my t5 today and the crunchin seams to have stopped
