Sent to me tonight
On the 28th July, 2009 we informed you about the new faster and easier dispute resolution process on eBay. You can read the full announcement here.

Buyers will be able to resolve their problems on eBay through eBay Buyer Protection. We intend to make this process available to more and more buyers throughout 2009; although initially only a limited number of buyers will be able to use this process while we make sure it's working for everyone.

To reflect this change, the eBay.co.uk User Agreement will be updated.

eBay Buyer Protection

Under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy [v1], if we resolve a dispute in the buyer's favour, we may:

remove funds from the seller's PayPal account to reimburse the buyer for the costs of both the item and original postage fee. This is in accordance with the seller's authorisation provided to us under the new User Agreement [v2] ; or,
where there are insufficient funds in the seller's PayPal account or where PayPal is not the reimbursement method of the seller, directly refund the buyer for the cost of the item and the original postage cost. In this case, the seller must reimburse us in full in a timely manner for an amount equivalent to the sum we paid to the buyer.

Sellers must have a reimbursement method on file with eBay at all times. The reimbursement method can be changed by contacting eBay and searching for 'Change My Reimbursement Method'. Where the seller is found at fault, we will notify them and charge the method of reimbursement they have on file.

Changes to the eBay.co.uk User Agreement

The new User Agreement is effective immediately for new members registering on or after today, and from 23rd October 2009 for current members. You don't need to do anything to accept the new User Agreement, but if you don't wish to accept, please, follow these instructions to close your account.

Yours sincerely,

So people you have a dispute with will be able to get a refund because they can and postage as well !!!!
That my account being closed then ,whats the funking point ,its full of tossers and dreamers these days anyway and they make it bleeding worse !
Thing this may be an own goal chaps ,ebays slowing dying a painfull death

ebay is finished for sellers, did you get the ****** about seller ratings and if you are below a certain % for postage/delivery/description etc they will limit your seller account and restrict the sale :*

I won't be selling on ebay anymore

i heard somewhere that ebay are trying to reduce the private sellers on ebay and become more of a shop

a bit similar to amazon

only something i read somewhere cant remember where or even know if it is true

i read this around the time that they forced a lot of sections to offer free postage.

They do that to save listing fees and the say "call me to discuss" meaning buy it from me outside ebay.

I always list cash cheque etc no "automated payment" so keep things simple and avoid paypal.

You can't do that anymore - you HAVE to offer PayPal (owned by you guessed it, eBay) as a payment method! I have two guitars left to sell from my collection, then that's it for selling on eBay for me too - just hope I don't get stitched up on those...

Yet another example of something good invented by the common man for the common man being ruined by "buy it out & f:*k it up" money grabbing corporate bulls:*t merchants

I sold a jacket on ebay a few weeks ago, seller kicked up a fuss saying it wasnt at advertised (trying to pull a fast one) and I didnt play ball, sent an email saying if they wanted to take this futrther to go directly to ebay. Next thing I know the item is up on my account as "eligible for second chance offer"????? whats that all about? I dont have the jacket back, and money hasnt been taken out of my account... why would it say "second chance offer" on it??
Im sick of ebay, good for cheap bargains but more hassle to sell these days.

I know you have to offer it but I add "cash, cheque or postalk order only, No automated payment method to avoid fraud"

Its then upto folks if they choose to bid.

If they get chirpy just say you cant remember your account details so send a cheque.

I will never use it again after what folks on here have said of the scams folks are pulling to "RECLAIM" their payment after "NOT" reciving goods,,,,,, hmmmm likely story
