just had a look on ebay for a power steering pump. yet again shocked at the price!
new over 200pound, recon'ed nearly 100 and used pretty much the same.
checked out a vw specialist and 70 smackers BRAND NEW OFF THE SELF!!
same with brake parts, (discs, hoses, pads, etc)
switches,
steering wheel adapters (only 11pound from dealer),
even seen some second hand steels on for over 150 the other week!!
the list is endless.......
this is crazy! who's buying it?

so call the dealers first eh guys, might be in for a pleasant surprise!!

Couldn't agree more! Everything from cruise control switchgear to plastics that Ive had from the dealer has been good pricing.. If only the same could be said of servicing ;-)

Thats it most of the time, convenience, I bet the first place we look for a part is ebay, wether we buy it or not, we still look,, then a percentage just then buy it there and then as they need it and dont have the time for research, or like me, i simply cannot get to a shop/dealers in the normal mon-fri 9-5 scenario as im working, and to have time off costs me more money, so its better for it to get delivered!

Fortunately my local dealers are cool, sort it out over the phone, and collect saturday morning, or use my TPS account and get it delivered T:

Agreeed a while back I was looking for a replacement arial , wanted the one that fits behind front scuttle and didnt want to pay the vw price so got one of e bay, fitted it but couldnt understand why radio reception was still rubbish, eventually gave up and bought the proper vw one , radio reception now great,so it has cost me twice what I would have paid in the first place

Unfortunately Ebay is full of disgusting human beings! People whose only motivation in life is making money, without any thought for anyone else but themselves. They rip people off, sell dodgy or faulty items and it is a sham that ebay allows these people to sell stuff on their site. They don't give a damn as long as those listing fees and sales commissions are coming in.

It isn't just VW T4 stuff that is way overpriced on ebay...try checking out some of the retards selling Golf Mk2 Gti parts...as if it was the rarest car ever made!! Broken and cracked G60 arch trims for £300 for a full set second hand...absolute joke!

I've been conned a couple of times from Ebay, buying things that seemed a bargain, but were actually not compatible on closer inspection...the latest thing was a couple of seats, which I paid £80 quid for, now I'll be lucky if I can get rid of them for nothing in the free ads! Apart from anything else I don't have room for them in the garage!! I'm new to this t4 business though so I expect I have to learn the hard way!!
