Hello,

Does anybody know if the Eberspacher D2 when running in continuous mode uses power/juice from the battery or does it power itself once up to speed? Just thinking about camping with it on low blow all night without electric hook up.

It does draw power. More so when in start up. It needs to spool up from time to time during continuous operation as it is thermostatically controlled.
Without moving the van, we have camped for up to 3 nights with the heater on low for a good 8 or 9 hours daily, without draining a 110 a/h battery. Not done any calcs as it will depend on how much heat you want and the ambient temp.
We regularly use the heater at night, but with driving the van, even short distances if on hols for a week or two. I've never had to charge a leisure battery from anything other than the alternator either.

Hi I camp at all times of the year and run my eberspacher D 2 on low about 21 degrees and have no problems and my battery is only a 90 battery .cheers Dai
