ok after much reading about how brill it is i have decided to go for a remap on my 1.9 85hp. i have approached these guys at www.edgemotorsport.co.uk (Gosport) and they are pendle agents so its all looking good, just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback if you have used them for re mapping or any other works....just to make me feel more confident as its the nearest pendle agent to me ...and thats still nearly 3 hours away!

thanks in advance for any info.

Are you sure they are Pendle Agents? They're not on Pendle's site as an Agent

Any updates? Could you PM me with the price as I'd like Martin to do it but can't justify going all that way but would prob make it halfway. Discount for 2 of us? I:

was there an update?
Sorry I should have replied earlier.

Yes Ken is a PendlePerformance agent for us and has done loads of work on the VW's for us. He also only ever uses Custom Software from myself.

Ken will do a basic fault code scan to start with and let me know any faults the motor has and then he will go for a spin and datalog the motor and send us this datalog as well as the original software from the ECU (Engine Control Unit) I then tune this software relating to the datalog info and send a tuned file back down via the internet.

Ken will then write this tuned software into the ECU and go out and datalog again, I'll look at this log again and see if it needs a tweak if so another tuned file will come down.

Anymore info you need just give us a bell, mobile number is best to get me on as its always in my pocket even when out on road test or in the workshop.

Regards
Martin

Sorry to crash the thread, but I have an 1998 102bhp ACV ... is it a remap or new chip for that year?

Its a new chip for this vehicle or should I say two new chips... Ken doesn't do this work and it can only be done at out main workshop as we have all the equipment to pull the chips of and stick new ones in there...

Just got my T5 174 remapped to 204..jeez what a difference, really surprised me the compared to chips I had put in T4's before and didn;t really notice a massive difference.. the torque and acceleration is unreal. Haven't done any great distances yet to see the economy difference, although its hard to drive it economically when it feels like a F1! Well chuffed!

Wow remapping did mine and they were really helpful, knew their stuff and also give a 30 day money back if you don;t like it which is something you would struggle to find anywhere!

Right off for another circuit! :ILU:

Thats a shame, bit of trek to your place. Why 2 new chips?

This uses a ECU (Engine Control Unit) that has a pair of Write Once Eproms inside that control the engine so these need to be pulled read and then we write the tuned files to new blank eproms and stick them back in the ecu.

The newer ECU's use a rewritable chip inside and can be re flashes as many times as you like.

Sounds like a road trip.. T:

So to recap ... a 1998 2.5 tdi 102 needs 2 new chips fitted.

how much?
This can only be done at our main workshop as we have all the equipment here to remove these and program them.

We offer forum members a special offer of just £275 for these. Usual price is £295

Martin
