Hi guys.
Had to fix the air direction control today.
When selecting vents ( all the way anti clock) it would feel tight and not change the airflow.
After taking the dash trim, radio and heater dial module out I could see the problem.
One of the cables had a kink which meant it did not track neatly down its tube/ casing.
I had to put a slight bend in it to guide it.
This could be avoided by selecting/rotating the switch slowly.
Sorted now though.

On early models you should refrain from turning the dial between 12 and 3 o clock, like you say the Bowden cable can kink, but is generally easily straightened.
