You could try a service like anyvan.com - basically, drivers across the country with all sizes of trucks / vans who are returning with an empty van and will pick up large ebay items - great way to get bargains - I used them when I worked on contract in Norfolk for a year to collect my stuff at the end of contract. Would recommend the service, it works well.
