All the best to you all

Ive had my van in storage for a few years and as my new years resolution to the van I'm thinking of dropping the gear box oil and maybe putting an additive in to prolong the life of the gears has anyone done this or am I just wasting my hard earned money
The mileage is 116k also it hasn't had a hard life no heavy loads , it's 53 plate 2.5 ajt 88bhp
Any other recommendations welcome as said above not been out properly for about 2 years

Thanks in advance
Jay

I had my 5th gear upgraded at 115,000 by a VW gearbox specialist and asked him the same question, and he swears by using only VW gear oil , no additives

I don't think it will do any harm putting some activ8 in
How long have you been using it as I have always gone for slick 50 on my cars or wynns

i have been using it for 3 years in my race engine which is a high reving 16v , so do my friends.

i wouldn't use slick 50 , also Activ 8 is totally different product.

i fitted a 0.70 ratio 5th gear when i did my upgrade.
