:( so on Friday night I was on the motorway and the yellow oil can lift come on, I checked the dip stick and all was ok.
The next day I was driving to the garage to get it checked out n about three miles to go, I noticed a funny noise when changing gear especially as the revs got higher. When I got to the garage it sounded as though a tin can was being pulled along the road :(

Anyway I found out today that the dual mass flywheel needs replacing :(
Has anyone had this before or does anyone think that he oil light coming on might be separate problem?

I've only had the van 2 months n this has happened, I'm not a happy chicken at the moment

DMF is in the gearbox which is taken off to be replaced.
Oil light might be just a sensor.
Get it plugged into vagcom to see if any fault codes come up.
DMF should cost around £700-£800 mark as a guide.
Good luckT:

My oil level light sometimes gives a false alarm & has done just after topping up the oil - lifting & closing the bonnet resets it.

Sometimes, these sensors need a "hard reset" - disconnect the battery for about half an hour (don't forget your radio code if any).

I doubt if the 2 are connected.

It was privately, I've done just over 1000 miles since I've had it. It was a mechanics van before so I thought it would have been ok.
Anyway it's fixed now so apart from a hole in my purse it's good to go :)
