traveling along dual at a steady 50 when suddenly a strange loud noise (sounded a bit like changing from 5 - 1 ) immediately engaged clutch, all died and i pulled over... inspected under bonnet, all belts fine ( changed 2 months ago) so tried to start it.... huge puff of white smog ( similar to when a turbo goes but nowhere near as much, anyway a turbo blows you loose power etc but engine runs..... closer inspection and notice coolent level had dropped down below min (was mid way between min/max) tried to start but engine locked, RAC man seems to think head gasket and bore filled with water.... anythoughts as will prob go for this

Take Glo-Plugs out , see if it cranks , and water comes out ...??? You may also find evidence on dipstic oil level ..?? Or condensation on rocker cover cap ..??

99 1.9td...looked last night and coolant level dropped. going to wip head off on weekend and look... unable to look as yet. work, is the curse
