Hello all,

I'm having a little trouble with my '98 2.5 T4. Couldn't tell you what engine code, but it's the 110bhp 5 cylinder engine.

I've got a couple of issues that I think might be linked. My heater isn't working in the van, but also the temperature gauge doesnt work. I couldn't find a fuse that'd blown, and I dont think its the thermostat as the engine is getting up to temperature ok.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what might be causing it? It's guna be mighty cold in the mornings with no heat.

Cheers

Have you checked that you've got enough coolant in it? How do you know it gets up to temperature if the temp guage isnt working?

Fair point T:. I'm judging that it is, as the fan comes on after a long drive. Coolent's topped up too.

I'm stumped on it?

Connecting VAG COM will tell you if engine is getting up to temp. Temp gauge problem could be just temp. sensor needing replacement.
Heater matrix could be blocked or pipe leading to it Heater valve may be disconnected through broken switch on dash.
