Could any of you tell me if this heater valve thing is in the hot or the cold position?

Should have "AUF" =open or hot "ZU" =closed or cold stamped on it I think , The older style ones do

Thanks for that you were right I did not see the markings on the valve ... If you are interested this is what I have been doing as the gear that worked the valve was striped so I repaired it and works brill

Gear removed

And repaired with epoxy

And back togeather
