Evening. Well me and my girl bought Rusty today, to start this journey. Ive been hiding and reading here for a while, Your such lovely folks i kept creeping closer to the camp fire and now find myself standing in it.
Shes a 2002 2.4 88php TDI.
Paid £2800, got 153k and lots of rust!! So i am going to start on that...with zero experience..what a noob!!

came with diesel heater, solar panel to leasure battery, roof rack, side bar things. Reverse camera. Pop up awning, chemical toliet, pop down tv, insulated and rust. Engine feels fine. Yearly Filter changes and oil up to Nov18, Time belt & water pump kit 2016, new tyres.

No mention of Cam Belt!

So i thought priority is service, Filters, oil, Cam belt, timing belt and water pump?

MOT (Dec20) advisories
Oil Leak. But not excessive!!
Track rod End ball joint has slight play
Steering linkage ball slight play.

Rust... MOT didnt mention it, which is good. Talking about all wheel arches, sliding door foot panel and start of bottom side, all around window. Any advice on whats scary and whats not will be great. Costs / DIY or Prof etc. Pics attached.. Any advice gladky taken and you can laugh, its all part of the journey. Thanks James & Tara ( Sorry if wrong forum)

Will strip it all down at weekend. Take out floor etc and cry. Actual wheel arches are ok. Not as bad as i thought. Just need rubbing down and a tidy. (Praying) Slidding door seal metalwork no longer exists. Thats the biggest challange. When i remove that seal, thats where Alice goes down the rabbit hole.
