My drivers side mirror has developed a wobble over the weekend.

I can't find much on here - most wobbly mirrors tend to affect T4's (I know mine used to wobble then).

I did read something about 'a small part of the electric adjustment mechanism' that breaks causing a wobble.

Usually I'd take it apart and have a look but wondering even how to go about it sensibly, given I may break the glass removing it!

Has anyone had anything similar? What was the cause?

The actual glass started to come away from the backing on mine - some double sided tape solved it until the glass decided to take a trip to the central reservation one morning.

Maybe that on yours ?

I had the same problem on my Golf GTi heated drivers side mirror.

I lightly pushed the glass along the edges and it worked loose very quickly. Then I spoke to VW about sourcing the correct adhesive, who said I needed a whole new wing mirror!!

A few small spots of super glue and hey-presto.

Just be careful when replacing the glass in position as super glue only gives you one chance.

Hope that helps

Thanks everyone - just had a look - it came off nicely and in one piece.

The mirror had started to come away from the plastic backing. I've put some strong double sided tape on although not ideal conditions to do so (light rain)

I'll order some pads to replace the tape with when I get an opportunity.

All clicked back together nicely too!
